[TAKEN FROM MY DAD]

Who is Jesus?
A great prophet? A Teacher?
A liar? A mad man?

By His own account, Jesus claimed that He had the power to forgive sins, to cast out demons, and to determine people’s eternal destiny. He even declared He Himself was God! Declaring that He was God so angered the religious and political leaders of His day that they had Him crucified. They buried Him in a borrowed grave, and three days later, He rose from the dead. The resurrection of Jesus is what makes Christianity unique. In fact, the validity of Christianity hinges on the proof of the resurrection of Jesus. If the resurrection never took place, then the Christian faith is based on a lie and people have no true hope for life after they die. But if it is true, then we can do nothing else but accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord and receive His gift of love and forgiveness.

What has Jesus done for us?
In the beginning, man had a personal relationship with God. Sin separated man from God. Man is continually trying to reach God. God has bridged the gulf by sending His Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. Through Him alone we can know God personally and experience God’s love.

How does the Cross apply to you?
Because of Jesus’ resurrection, His followers do not honour a dead founder. They have a vital, personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus Christ lives today and faithfully enriches the lives of all those who trust and obey Him. Throughout the centuries, multitudes have acknowledged the worthiness of Jesus Christ, including many who have greatly influenced the world. God wants to fill every man the life of Himself in their lives through His Son, Jesus Christ.

How do you get to know Jesus personally?
God loves you and created you to love personally.

In John’s Gospel, Chap 3:16-17 : “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”

What prevents us from knowing God personally?

Let us imitate what St Paul had said, “It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now lives in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
